Given the size of the Ottawa running community, it always surprises me that the less traditional running events (like the 5 Peaks race at Camp Fortune) don’t receive a lot of local support. It looks like only 100 participants will be running this weekend vs. the 30,000+ who participated in the National Capital Race weekend. I concede that having the course going up and down a ski hill makes this a more challenging race, but anyone who has run a 10km road race could easily complete the 6km Sport course being offered. I’ll be there to race the 12km Enduro course and my 3yr old daughter will be participating in the fun race. I hope to see some of you there.
