Last night on CFRA, I had another great discussion with Greg Hebert about whether or not investors are concerned about fees. I believe investors are uneasy about the level and types of fees they pay but because so many fees can be partially or fully hidden, they don’t have a complete picture about what they’re paying overall. Furthermore, because information about fees can be difficult to find and hard to understand, many investors are reluctant to question their advisor about how they’re compensated.
During the interview I referenced a study about how difficult it can be for investors to use mutual fund prospectuses to learn about the fees funds are charging them. If you would like to read that study, please click here. It’s a straightforward, interesting read.
